VW Polo 9N Matt black valences

For a bit of flair, the VW Black Magic paint scheme on the Polo needed something to distinguish it from the rest. It was decided to make the front and rear plastic valences matt black, and smooth it at the same time.
As seen in the horrible quality pic, the two plastic valences are textured with millions of small nobblies.

This was sanded smooth as best as possible.

The polypropylene (plastic) primer was next to go on, to ensure strong bonding of the paint anto the valence

MS Primer was applied next, and tediously sanded smooth to give it that super smoothed look before the matt black goes on. As seen here, smoooth...

I have a strange soft spot for anything matt black...

And after a coat of the black stuff, the end result is super neat, and shows off nicely against the pearly VW Black Magic...

VW Jetta 2 bumper

Livesh dropped his new Jetta 3 front bumper off for me to paint! What better colour than Monza Red! When I got it, it was cover in this oily protective lubricant to keep the black plastic..well..black!

So i cleaned that off with some plastic-friendly chemicals and started to flat the surface soon to be sprayed.

Then started the masking process, carefully making sure that there are no holes for the overspray to get onto the top and bottom parts of the bumper.

The polypropylene (plastic) primer is a must on bare plastic surfaces, else the 2K top coat wont stick, and the paint will peel in no time!

As seen in the pic, the plastic primer has a sort of metallic silver finish

After the red coat wash splashed on, the final product really looks super good! Smooth, fresh and shiny...

Audi S4 bumper refurbish

This is one beast of a car, the Audi S4, 4.2Lit V8... I didn't get it to go drive it like a mad man, i got it to recoat the front and rear bumpers to give the car an almost-new refreshed look.

The front bumper had serious stone-chip damage, and the rear bumper had been slightly reversed into a pole.

The colour in question is VW Black Magic. A very expensive base coat / clear coat type paint, with metallic elements added.

I sanded down both bumpers, and removed all the scratches and dings, applied MS primer, and flattened it again. I then painted the base coat onto both bumpers and waited for it to dry.

The final coat is the clear coat, to give the bumpers a super shiny look. Here are the results

VW Golf GTi MK4 (colour coding)

Here is the Golf 4 GTi of Psyfire. He brought it to me for some custom spraywork...

The front and rear bumpers both have black plastic valences at the bottom.

The valences on Psy's car had some stonechips on them, and needed a real good sanding down. The rear bumper also had a nasty ding in it, which i had to fix

After applying a coat of polypropylene (plastic) primer, the front one looked like this.

Here is the front lip coated with VW Pearl White (2K)

Time for the rear valence: (Plastic primed)

ll shiny with the fresh coat of paint.

Here are the colourcoded bits fitted to Psy's Golf 4 GTi. It makes the car look so much lower than before! The rear bumper is also fixed, and sprayed! Tip top shape

VW CitiGolf

Recently I bought myself a compressor and some spraypainting equipment to get her to look neat again. The bumpers had scratches on it, and the paint was faded.

Removed the front and rear bumpers and sanded them down to remove the scratches. Then I coated them with polypropylene (plastic) primer, in order for the paint to bond firmly with the bumpers. When this was done, I coated it with the factory 2K paint, VW Pearl White...

I also gave the two side mirrors a fresh new coat of paint as well

The end result is much better...
